Kajiado County has launched the Kajiado County Gender Based Violence Response and Prevention Policy, 2025, capping off the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence with a powerful commitment to change.

As Inspire Teenagers Foundation, we were actively engaged in developing this policy alongside county officials, CSOs, and community stakeholders. This comprehensive framework tackles the root causes and impacts of GBV from domestic abuse to cultural harms that plague women, girls, and vulnerable groups in our arid landscapes, prioritizing prevention, swift response mechanisms, and survivor-centered support to set a bold standard for counties nationwide.

Our hands-on contributions, including youth-led consultations and evidence-based recommendations, amplified the perspectives of teenagers and young women, ensuring the policy addresses real gaps in education, legal protection, and healing. Working with women's rights groups and health advocates, we helped craft actionable strategies tailored to Kajiado's unique challenges.

This launch is more than a policy; it's a clarion call for sustained action beyond the 16 days. As we reflect on progress, let's rally communities, policymakers, and youth to implement these measures with vigor empowering survivors, holding perpetrators accountable, and building safer futures. Kajiado leads by example; now, it's time for every corner of Kenya to follow.
